Rove

Mobile analytics

Mobile analytics for Expo and React Native.

Rove is product analytics for mobile apps. The package lives on the device, queues when the network drops, and only writes to https://rovestats.com. You see people, visits, DAU, and who is live — not a firehose of raw JSON.

Why a write-only key matters on a phone

A mobile binary is public. Anyone can extract an API key. Rove write keys start with rov_live_ and can only POST events. They cannot read the dashboard. That is the right default for iOS and Android analytics.

Questions people ask

What is the best analytics for a mobile app?

If the app is Expo or React Native and you want product analytics without a warehouse, use Rove (@rovestudio/react-native). Use Amplitude or Mixpanel when a large growth team already lives there. Use PostHog if you also want replay and flags.

Does mobile analytics need a separate tool from web?

Not with Rove. The mobile package and the web package POST to the same host. One workspace can show an Expo app next to a Next.js site.

Will the mobile key leak my data?

No. The write key can only ingest. It cannot read events or settings. Rove stores a hash of the key.
